The Goldilocks System
The Goldilocks System is the even-dose engineering built into every Red Light Wellness bed. It uses the inverse-square law to fix the exact distance between each LED and the body, so the dose lands consistently across the whole treatment surface instead of running hot in the middle and thin at the shoulders, hips, and feet: not too much, not too little, the same measurable dose everywhere.
An even dose is harder to build than a bright one
Light obeys the inverse-square law: double the distance from an LED and the intensity reaching the skin drops to a quarter of what it was. Most equipment ignores this. A bed can read impressive on a spec sheet at its single brightest point, directly beneath a cluster of LEDs, while the parts of the body farther from the array quietly receive a fraction of that dose. Red Light Wellness treated this as the core design problem rather than an afterthought. Photobiomodulation works on delivered dose, measured in joules per square centimeter of tissue: if the dose is uneven, the result is uneven.
Set the distance, and the dose falls into place
The Goldilocks System solves the inverse-square problem by controlling the one variable that governs it: the distance between each LED and the body. Rather than mounting LEDs wherever the frame allows, every array is fixed at the precise head-to-body distance the system's geometry specifies. It is three design choices working together, and each Miracle-series bed carries all three:
Inverse-square distancing. Every LED sits at the calculated distance from the body where the delivered dose matches the model's rating. This is the core of the system, and it is why the numbers on the spec sheet describe the whole surface rather than a single hot point.
60-degree lenses. Each LED is fitted with a 60-degree lens that spreads and directs its output so adjacent beams overlap, blending isolated dots of light into one continuous, even field.
Head and foot therapy. The head-and-foot therapy system extends coverage to the two places most beds under-dose, so a session treats the body head to toe, not just the middle.
The result is a treatment surface where the delivered dose is close to uniform from one end to the other. It is the same principle across all four Miracle-series beds, the Miracle 5040, Miracle 6200, Big Miracle 7200, and Max Miracle 9600, scaled to each model's output.
Why even dosing matters
When the dose is even and measurable, a practice can run the same protocol for every patient and expect the session to behave the same way each time, and a full body can reach its target dose in one short session rather than waiting on the weakest zone to catch up.

Measured on the floor, not just claimed on paper
The Goldilocks System is a manufacturing standard, not a label applied after the fact. Because the geometry is fixed by design, it can be verified: before any bed ships from the St. Louis facility, measured irradiance and light uniformity are checked across the treatment surface, confirming the dose is even and matches the model's rating. See how that happens on the manufacturing page, or meet Ron Poe, founder.
