“Do it right, or don’t do it at all.”
Ron Poe, Founder
Ron Poe is the founder of Red Light Wellness®. More than 40 years of hands-on work with full-body light equipment are the origin story behind the Miracle-series beds the company builds in St. Louis, Missouri.
The turn toward red light
A hands-on start
Our company motto comes straight from Ron: “Do it right, or don't do it at all” is the rule he has run his shop by for four decades. In 1980 he opened his own manufacturing company in St. Louis, starting with practical work: repairing and enhancing full-body lighting equipment, rebuilding canopies, and learning why a given unit ran hot or dimmed unevenly. That hands-on decade taught him how full-body light systems behave and how a frame has to be built to last through years of daily use.
In the early 2000s, a man asked Ron to build a light bed for his mother. That single request pulled a lifetime of lighting work in a new direction, and Ron began building full-body beds around red and near-infrared wavelengths instead of the tanning equipment he had worked on for years. He did not treat red light therapy as a novelty to sell; he treated it as something to build properly: how to deliver an even dose to a body that is not flat, and how to build a frame and light array a busy practice can run all day for years. That work became the Miracle series.
Where the Miracle name came from
The Miracle name was not chosen in a branding session. Practices and clients kept phoning in asking about the “miracle bed,” and Ron, being practical, went with what people were already saying. The line stuck, and the Wellness Collection carries it today: the Miracle 5040, the Miracle 6200, the Big Miracle 7200, and the Max Miracle 9600. Ron keeps the name in its place; the beds are commercial-grade equipment, not a promise of a cure.
Built, not just sold
The company builds its beds in St. Louis, continuing the hands-on, family-owned approach Ron set in motion in 1980. You can see how the beds are made on the manufacturing page, or read more about the company today.
